Congratulations to the Lydia Music Center String Orchestra for its successful performance! On 6/3/2018 Sunday, at the Taylor Allderdice High School auditorium, the Lydia Music Center String Orchestra was honored to be invited by the Pittsburgh Chinese School to perform at the school graduation ceremony. The Chinese school 2018 graduation ceremony kicked off with Beethoven's 5th and 9th symphonies performed by the LMC Orchestra. The wonderful performance was conducted by Marco Ferri and won a warm applause from the audience!
The LMC Orchestra has been conducting classes since 3/2/18 and it will complete its first public performance in just 3 months. Parents have expressed their appreciation for this orchestra. The praised instructor's teaching level and methods not only allowed the students to improve rapidly, but also caused parents to marvel at the fact that the children very much look forward to the 2-hour long training during rehearsals. I can not even begin to explain all the amazing changes this instructor has brought to these students.
The LMC Orchestra rehearses every Friday and Saturday night from 7:00 to 9:00, working with all levels of violin, cello, viola, and bass students. The orchestra has been instructed daily by our LMC faculty as well with violin teacher Macro Ferri and cello teacher Silvia Games leading the way. Louis Lev, Associate Principal Violinist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Assistant Principal Cellist Adam Liu have both served as master class teachers for our students. There is also an intensive camp during summer vacation to help train the students. The summer camp will be 6/25-6/29 this year.
