2018 Summer Chamber Music Program Concert
The Lydia Music Center Chamber Music Summer Camp Concert was very successful. On June 30th at 6:15 pm. while students were still rehearsing their last piece on stage, Adam Liu, Assistant Princial Cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra sent a congratulatory letter to wish the children a big success on their performance and said that he really want to see the performance! PSO Associate Principal Violinist Louis Lev also said that, unfortunately, he had to play at Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at night, otherwise he would have seen the kids playing in person. He asked that we send him a video to watch the performance. With the care and encouragement of the parents, the instructors' careful guidance, the great artists' expectations, the students all performed very well. The audience and parents were very surprised that these kids could play such long pieces. The yongest student is 9 years old, and the oldest is only 14 years old! Their successful performance was a great accomplishment in just a week. Many parents are excited to register their younger kids next year for the summer seminar. When they learned that the summer camp teachers were regular teaching faculty of our Lydia Music Center, some parents immediately asked to arrange one-on-one lessons for the following week. It went so well that the Lydia Music Center summer camp concert with children's superb performance pleasantly surprised the parents! Thanks to all the parents and teachers. We are so proud of these wonderful young artists!
