The Adam Liu Holiday Concert "East Meets West Series 2" has successfully ended in the exceedingly nice and warm night of 12/2/18.
Enthusiastic audience are local residents who are music lovers . While the audience were immersed in the exquisite skill and beautiful melodies of the musicians, the concert hosted by the Lydia Music Center concluded without anyone's realization. Afterwards, there were many interactions between the audience and the musicians: requests for signatures, photos, asking music questions, and requesting private lessons. People appreciated and marveled at the music, claiming that it was very enjoyable, and suggested to have similar concerts like this more often.
The program featured Adam Liu, who is Pittsburgh Symphony Assistant Principal Cello and Adjunct Professor of Cello at duquesne university(cello, Chinese instrument Erhu) and the special guests Jin Yang, who graduated from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing (Chinese Pipa), Bonita Liu(Voice), who received Doctor of Musical Arts in vocal performance at University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Other musicians included: Yinghao(Guqin), JunyanTao(Xiao), John Snatchko(piano), James Lesniak(piano).

Jin Yang
Jin Yang received her BA and MA degrees from the world-famous Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Before relocating to the U.S., she served as a pipa instructor at Wuhan Conservatory of Music.
Many awards had been awarded to Jin, including first prize in the “TianHua Cup”Traditional Music competition at age 15, and the Silver Award of the most prestigious Chinese Golden Bell Award for music in 2004.
She has performed in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, France, the U.S., Britain, Japan, and Philippines. In 2010, she was the only pipa performer from Mainland China selected to participate in the "Kronos Quartet and Wu Man Master Class" at Carnegie Hall.
Jin is a solo performer of Cleveland Chinese Music Ensemble, Pittsburgh Purple Bamboo Ensemble(Chinese band), Helio Phoenix Trio(Pipa, Viola, and Piano) and Afro Yaqui Music Collective(Jazz) and has performed Hundreds of concerts in Ohio and Pennsylvania since 2013.
Since October 2016, Jin has joined Yo-Yo Ma's "Silk Road ensemble" together with Mark Morris Dance Group and well-known mugham singers Alim Qasimov in Great music epic "Layla and Majnun" world tour and staged on Lincoln Center, John F. Kennedy Center, Harris Theater and so on.

Bonita Liu, Doctor of Musical Arts in vocal performance at University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. She received her MM in vocal performance from Duquesne University, and a BA from Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China. She has performed major role Mrs. Alice in Verdi’s opera Falstaff, Lauretta in Puccini’s opera Gianni Schicchi, Sour Angelica, Carmen, and Hansel and Gretel. Ms. Liu held many solo voice recitals as well. She appeared in many major international voice competitions such as The Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition, Seoul International Music Competition, and the winner of concerto competition at University of Illinois.
