Chamber Music Seminar (2018 Summer Camp)
June 25- June 29th 2018
Chamber Music Seminar is an intensive chamber music experience designed to enhance the chamber music and collaborative skills of string students ages 7-18. This year, the camp will run from June 25-29th, everyday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Students will be instructed by prominent artists and teachers of international recognition with extensive experience and expertise as educators, chamber musicians and members of major musical groups.
Our camp roster includes Lydia Music Center faculty and features the Assistant Principal Cellist Adam Liu and Associate Principal Violinist Louis Lev of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Comprehensive tuition of $350 includes tuition, food and activities.
Application Fee : $25 (non-refundable)/ per application
Due to the highly individualized nature of this program, no refunds will be given after June 1, 2018. No refunds will be made for failure to attend or incomplete attendance for any reason.

Chamber Music Seminar Faculty Members and Guest Artists
Marco Ferri, violinist, Marco Ferri started to play the violin at the age of 7 years old. He received training in violin, viola, and cello at his home town until the age of 19, when he moved to Sao Paulo city to seek higher training. Among his teachers are his life mentor Claudio Micheletti (Brazil/Hungary), Winston Ramalho (Brazil/Austria), and Rucker Bezerra (Brazil). Mr. Ferri participated in many masterclasses working with world famous violinists, such as, Max Rabinovijt (USA), Nicolas Koeckert (Germany), Eva Szekely (USA/Hungary) and Ferenc Szecod (Hungary). He studied chamber music under the direction of members of the Atrium Quartet (Russia) and Trio Brasileiro (Brazilian Piano Trio). On stage, Marco has been seen on the most important theaters and concert halls of Brasil, performing with the Experimental Repertoire Orchestra of Sao Paulo, Academic Orchestra of Sao Paulo, and the Brazilian Young Trio, of which he is a founding member. In the USA, Marco performs with the Port Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and Theater Zone (Naples). As a teacher, Marco Ferri has experience teaching all ages in violin, viola, cello, music theory, music history, and conducting. For over 13 years, Marco has been coaching students from beginning to advanced level.
Silvia Games DuBos: Cellist established in Pittsburgh for more than ten years. In 2005 she received a degree in Music, Symphony and Chamber Orchestra orientation. Mrs. Games obtained the Artist Diploma degree in 2008 at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she studied with Mr. Misha Quint and Mr. Adam Liu (Pittsburgh Symphony).
Mrs. Games is working with private students combining traditional and Suzuki as a method of teaching depending on the student and parents’ choice.
Mrs. Games DuBos has participated in numerous orchestras around Pennsylvania and Ohio such as Butler Symphony, Johnstown Symphony, and Ohio Valley Symphony among others. She is a founding member of Aura Ensemble, chamber music ensemble created in 2011 and has also participated in numerous chamber groups, such as the Ohio University String Quartet 2009-2010, as well as in the Duquesne University Contemporary Music Ensemble 2006-2008.
Mrs. Games is working with private students combining traditional and Suzuki as a method of teaching depending on the student and parents’ choice.

Louis Lev: Guest Artist, joined the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra during the 1992-93 season. During the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons he served the PSO as Acting Principal Second Violin. Previously he was a member of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra where he served as concertmaster from 1990 to 1992. His prior professional experience includes positions with the Lansing Symphony (principal second violin), Lansing Opera (concertmaster), Saginaw Symphony and Flint Symphony.
A graduate of Yale University (M.M.) and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (B.M.), Mr. Lev has performed on radio throughout Israel and Germany, and has participated in several music festivals including those in Norfolk, Gstaad, Interlochen and Long Beach, as well as the Kfar Blum Chamber Music Festival in Israel. Winner of the Rosa Albano Cavallero International Competition (1988), the University of Michigan and Yale University concerto competitions and the Washington State Scholastic Competition, he has performed concertos of Walton, Paganini, Bach, Mozart and Lou Harrison in Seattle, Ann Arbor and New Haven. Mr. Lev is an adjunct professor of violin at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Lev plays a violin made by J. B. Vuillaume, crafted in Paris in 1855.

Quddus Khamooshi, Violinist, Quddus Khamooshi enjoys a multi-faceted life as an orchestra musician, chamber player, and teacher. After being chosen as a prizewinner of National young artist competition in 2001, he presented numerous solo and chamber music recitals in all major cities of Iran.
Mr. Khamooshi studied under the direction of Charles and Rachel Stegeman at the Mary Pappert School of Music (Duquesne University) where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music performance. He also holds a performance certificate from Depaul University in Chicago where he studied with Olga Kaler. Mr. Khamooshi has performed in masterclasses for such great artists as Ilya Kaler, Cyrus Forough, Sherry Kloss, Noah Bendix-Balgley, and several members of the Pittsburgh and Chicago symphony orchestras.

Emily Tarantino : Double Bass, Emily Tarantino is a Pittsburgh-based double bassist and strings teacher. She completed her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she pursued Music Education. She is currently finishing up her graduate degree in Double Bass Performance at Duquesne University, and has plans to study at Carnegie Mellon University next fall. Emily has worked with excellent double bass teachers such as Aaron White (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra), Brett Shurtliffe (Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra) and Dr. Harry Jacobson (Erie Chamber Orchestra). While living in Pittsburgh, Emily has played with the Westmoreland Symphony, Johnstown Symphony, and Altoona Symphony, in addition to other freelance jobs. She enjoys working with colleagues to play chamber music, and bringing music to the community. In addition to her performing career, Emily is also passionate about teaching and fostering a love for music in her students.
